From TENSION to EASE ☀️

On Sunday, we had our first true spring day here in the Northeast and while we're back to a rainy winter situation today (sigh!), I couldn't help but notice how much gentleness and ease comes with the onset of a warmer season.

As I was sitting in the sunshine on Sunday –my eyes closed, birds chirping in the nearby trees– my whole body softened and I could feel so much of that wintery tension drip off of me.

It made me think about how often in life –particularly when we are in a personal winter season and are struggling with something– we tend to…

… build up so much tension in our minds and bodies.

… try to control everything and everyone.

… attach ourselves to a particular outcome or else feel defeated.

… become rigid and inflexible.

And all of that gripping and controlling, instead of easing winter, just makes it worse.

On Sunday, with the sun warming up my skin and my mind, I remembered how important it is to…

… let go a little and losen up.

… to open your palms and let your face and shoulders relax.

… to dance with the hurdles in life instead of trying to control them.

… to see a variety of different outcomes and define success with an open mind.

So, today as March is upon us, I want to invite you to begin your move out of winter and into a personal spring season.

Ask yourself:

  1. Where am I taking things too serious, where am I clenching and forcing something that simply doesn't want to work?

  2. Where am I stuck and have tunnel vision as a result of trying to control an outcome?

  3. Where would I love to feel a little free-er and more at ease?

  4. What do I need to let go to make more space for what really matters?

Play with these questions and once you've identified something you want to work on, my suggestions would be to bring this awareness into your body.

Actively losen your shoulder, stretch your neck, adjust your posture, make sure you breathe well, maybe go on a light walk into nature, skip a little :)

Bring ease into your body and your mind will follow (and vice versa, of course).

With love,

Caroline
