Self Quest: What is standing in your way?

Today, I want to invite you to ask yourself a simple but powerful question:

Ask it from a place of genuine curiosity — not annoyance, frustration, or impatience.

When you think about your life, your goals, your vision for the future, what makes you stumble? What makes you stop before you finish? What makes you want to give up?

The first answers that come up are often money, time, or lack of support.

But more often than not, what’s hiding underneath are things like:

  • Limiting beliefs that fuel self-doubt and make you shy away from consistent action

  • Poor boundaries that put others first and leave no time or energy for yourself

  • Values conflicts that leave you stuck and not fully committed to any path

Now, I’m not saying money, time, and support don’t matter.

They do!

But I’ve also seen countless people find creative, resourceful ways around those obstacles. The real shift happened only when they recognized how limiting beliefs were holding them back, why boundaries were essential, and how resolving values conflicts brought clarity and momentum.

Let me share a personal example:

One of my biggest limiting beliefs is that I can’t be both an amazing mom and successful in my work. On one side, I hold the value of being present and nurturing in my family. On the other, I value creating professional success. In my mind, those two can feel at odds. The result? Sometimes I get caught doing the “one foot in, one foot out” dance — which only leads to feeling mediocre in both areas.

Working with this conflict is an ongoing practice for me. I know it probably won’t fully disappear until my kids are older and who knows, maybe then a new limiting belief will take hold… we’re all human.

BUT, simply naming it changes everything. I can spot the voice of doubt, engage with it, and move forward instead of freezing.

We often expect that once we “solve” an obstacle, it’s gone forever. But in my experience, that’s rarely true when it comes to the inner workings of our lives. Each of us has recurring themes that show up again and again.

When we become aware of them, when we can see clearly how they play out, we gain the power to make informed choices. That’s when we create flow instead of getting stuck.

Now, over to you:

What is standing in your way? GO DEEP.

You can take this week's question and simply reflect on it on your own, you can use it as a journal prompt (very powerful ), or you can go on a walk with friends and discuss it in a group (builds connection ).

With love as always,

Caroline
