Self-Quest: Could a few moments of calm change the way your whole day unfolds?

I am writing to you from a rainy day in the Northeast. Fall is coming and I am here for it 🍁 Out with the sweat, in with the scarves ☺️🧣

Today, I want to invite you to explore the POWER OF CALM with me.

Do you ever notice how hard it is to think clearly when your nervous system is in overdrive?

It’s like your mind keeps jumping from one thing to the next, while your body is buzzing with a kind of restless tension. In that state, it’s nearly impossible to feel grounded, let alone focused.

Here’s the truth:

Your brain can’t access its highest clarity when you’re frazzled. The nervous system is designed to protect you, and when it’s stuck in stress mode, it constantly scans for threats instead of letting you relax into creative thinking, confident decision-making, or calm presence.

The good news is that small, intentional moments of calm throughout your day make a huge difference.

That could mean pausing for three deep breaths before opening your laptop, journaling for five minutes to clear mental clutter, or simply stepping outside to feel the air on your skin. These micro-practices tell your body: “I’m safe. I can soften. I can focus.”

And when your nervous system feels safe, something powerful happens — you gain access to clarity, grounded confidence, and the ability to take aligned action.

In other words, the calmer you are inside, the more magnetic you become to what you truly want in your life.

Are you ready to get started and step into a calmer way of being?

Here is a two-part self-quest to help you get started:

1. What would feel calming to your nervous system?

Some of my personal go-to's include a morning meditation (preferably before the house gets busy), tea instead of that second cup of coffee, a walk in nature, a heating pad on my shoulders, writing down what I want to get done in the day, journaling if I’m going through something emotional, clearing clutter, sun on my body, painting, turning my phone off.

2. When in your day is it the easiest to fit in some calm space?

When building new habits make it as easy as possible for you. Maybe it’s before everyone wakes up or after everyone goes to sleep. Maybe it’s on your lunch break or right before you pick up your kids from school. Typically these pockets of times get “eaten up” by small busy tasks or scrolling on social media, which only fires up your nervous system more. Why not choose something different for a while and see how it goes?

With love

Caroline

PS: If you haven't yet, I would love your thoughts and feedback in this survey. I'd like to get to know you better, understand where you are finding yourself in your life and how I can best support you.
