The surprising gift of stepping away

Two weeks ago, I decided to majorly cut down on things that keep my nervous system in overdrive, like too much coffee and all social media. And instead focus on the habits that deeply nourish my inner calm, like meditation/ visualization and outdoor walks.

I cannot even begin to tell you how good I feel. Stepping away from social media in particular has opened up so much mental space. What I've found there is more calm, deeper connection, and a surprising sense of confidence. Honestly? I didn't miss it nearly as much as I thought I would.

While I know social media is part of running an online business (+ I genuinely love connecting with friends), this experiment showed me something important: if I want to keep a healthy nervous system, a vibrant mind, and a calm, present inner world, I have to navigate the online space with more care and intention.

Pairing this with practices (like visualization) that encourage presence, create space for clear thinking, and strengthen the way I see myself has been nothing short of transformational.

If you resonate with this, make sure you join my newsletter. This experience has made such a big impact on me that I'm going to share more about it soon

The way we spend our time and energy is the golden thread that shapes everything.

This brings me to my Self Quest question for you today:

What would you do if you had more time and energy?

  • Is there something you'd like to learn or study?

  • Is there an activity or a hobby you'd like to engage with more?

  • Are there people you'd like more quality time with?

  • Or, perhaps, you'd simply like more time to rest, relax, and day dream?

“Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back.”
