Self Quest: What habits will encourage the outcome you desire?

Today, I would like to draw your attention to your habits.

The power and influence our habits have…

→ over our life

→ over who we are, and

→ over what we attract

… is immeasurable.

Aristotle said: “We are what we repeatedly do.”

Similarly, Stephen Covey said "Our character is basically a composite of our habits."

I couldn't agree more.

Our habits –the simple ways in which we act and think day in and day out– shape the trajectory and outcome of our lives.

So, with that in mind, let me ask you a two-part question:

1. What outcome or change do you desire in your life?

2. What habits do you have to establish in your daily life that will fuel and encourage the outcome you desire?

Here are some examples for what outcomes or changes people often desire:

  • Maybe you'd like to become healthier, have more energy, feel more grounded or think more clearly?

  • Maybe you'd like to increase your motivation, change your career, or make more money?

  • Maybe you'd like to build better friendships, make yourself better understood or discover a new hobby?

And here are some examples of habits people might want to establish to encourage their desired outcomes:

  • Maybe you need to get into the habit of signing up for all your weekly exercise classes in advance, of food prepping, of carving out quiet space to meditate or go on solo nature walks?

  • Maybe you need to get into the habit of setting money goals, connect with helpful people or put yourself out there without overthinking?

  • Maybe you need build habits around reaching out to people you love more often, or speak more clearly and honestly about who you are and what you want, or engage in things just for fun regularly?

What comes up for you?

If you like, click reply and share with me :)

You can take this week's question and simply reflect on it on your own, you can use it as a journal prompt (very powerful ), or you can go on a walk with friends and discuss it in a group (builds connection ).

With love as always,

Caroline
