A Season of Stripping Away π + Painting My Walls π¨
We're nearing the end of fall βa season of stripping away and releasing what no longer holds energy for us. It's a quiet yet very potent and important season that prepares us to make room for what's more aligned with who we are becoming.
In full transparency, the theme of stripping away what no longer fits has been very alive for me lately. And while it's a little scary just how fast this is happening, it also feels right.
I'm at a point in my life where I find myself thinking:
"If it doesn't fit 100%, just take it! I don't want to walk through life with a bouquet of wilted flowers."
Instead, I want to mindfully let go of old strings of attachment, old beliefs, old commitments, old ways of doing thingsβ¦ not out of spite, but with gratitude and from a place of self-respect βhonoring this life I've been gifted.
This realization, for me (& I hope for you, too!) awakens courage and then comes with an overwhelmingly beautiful feeling of FREEDOM & EASE.
β Freedom to evolve and just be who you are.
β Freedom to stop trying to keep things alive that have died (not in a sad way necessarily but simply because they have run their course).
β Freedom to be present and look for what genuinely wants to come into your life now.
What's alive for me right now is that I am in a very creative and increasingly bold season in my life. I long for color, unique expression, and depth. And, I'm giving myself total permission to lean into it.
Yesterday, for example, I finished painting my office wall (after looking at hundreds of wall papers for way too many hours ). I figured I had little to lose and that treating a regular plain white wall so preciously didn't make sense. I could always just put wallpaper on top of it, right?!
So, I grabbed my paints, hit play on my favorite Spotify playlist, and just started.
So, time to hand you today's Self Quest:
What are you holding on to that's no longer alive? What do you want to strip away, shed and release?
What's alive instead? Don't censor yourself and definitely don't try to lead with logic first ;)β¦ this is a question for your intuition
What wants to come into your life now? Are you receiving any signs? What or who is knocking on your door?
As always you can journal on these prompts, chat with a friend, or simply think them over on a nice fall walk ;)
With love as always,
Caroline
