Self Quest: How have your past relationships shaped the way you connect with people now?
Last week, I skipped my email to you because I was on a work trip to my home country of Germany and I wanted to spend every possible minute with my brothers and my dad 😊
I think when I was younger, there were times when I took relationships for granted or perhaps, didn't understand the value of quality time. Today, my relationships are my top priority.
Esther Perel says:
The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.
Do you agree?
While I've been blessed with many deep, beautiful, and rewarding relationships with friends and family, I also know what it's like to be in relationships that create inner turmoil, that made me doubt myself and lose my footing.
Relationships are complex because every person has a past, a story, experiences that have shaped their conscious and unconscious feelings and doings.
What we have to remember if we want to be in positive, inter-connected relationships is that we can at any time, take inventory of how our past experiences have impacted our current lives and DECIDE if we want to continue on that course or if we want to make changes.
Let's start with such an inventory today with this week's Self Quest question:
You can take this question and simply reflect on it on your own, you can use it as a journal prompt (very powerful ✍️), or you can go on a walk with friends and discuss it in a group (so fun 👯♀️).
Be gentle and delicate with yourself!
This is a tricky topic for many.
You are not alone ❤️
with love,
Caroline
