I talk a lot to my clients about their mama superpowers, the things they love about motherhood, and the values they want to instill in their children.
Personally, I love SO many aspects of motherhood. I love playing with my kids, cooking with them (despite the mess;)), talking and explaining the world, asking them questions and of course, snuggling with them. I even sometimes "like" the tantrums because I feel such reward when I handle the situation in a way that I feel taught us both something new. I love witnessing my kids' development.
But, you know what my biggest mama weak moment is: Naptime and bedtime.
And I don't mean that I don't like when my kids are sleeping. I love when they sleep and I get a break. In fact, I really, really, really need them to sleep so I can recharge.
I am talking about the part where I am putting them down to sleep.I am terrible at putting my children to sleep. And, I mean TERRIBLE.
It's like a horror movie almost every time: I'm terrified and just want it to end.
It's like my kids sense something about me that says "Stay up. The party isn't over. We can have more fun. She doesn't really mean what she says."
I am also not the most patient person and the more my kids sense my impatience, the more hyper they get. It's a vicious cycle and I am working on that... good thing I get the chance to practice multiple times every day... jeeezzzz ;)
Anyways, what's your mama weak moment? What's the part of motherhood that "gets you?" Let me know in the comments below.
