Now, I want to tell you a quick story: 
When I was in my 20s, I weighed about 20-25 pounds more than I do today (even after having a baby last year!) although I was constantly obsessing over food and exercise. 

I was also super anxious and felt like the smallest thing could either lift me up super high or crash me down super hard. My anxiety was manifesting in an uncomfortable, tightening sensation in my throat and I was feeling tired and unmotivated.

I wasn't balanced at all although I was striving for balance all the time.

Looking back and knowing what I know now, I can pinpoint exactly what I was doing wrong:

I ate and lived with the belief that if I wanted to be thinner and happier, I needed to deprive myself and show more discipline. The problem was that I wasn't good at deprivation or discipline around food. 

In fact, those are the two things that got me into real trouble: senseless overeating of crappy food and a terrible self-image ---> the two most toxic things to a woman's physical and emotional life!

The turn for me happened, when I came off the birth control pill and had trouble with my real menstrual cycle (not the "regular" cycle that the pill artificially induces) and I, for the first time, understood the immense role hormones play when it comes to women's health. 

As a result, I learned:

--> how to eat for my hormones
--> how to help my body detoxify properly
--> how to nourish myself so that my body goes to its ideal weight without my constant surveillance or restriction, and
--> how to support my body through a healthy, easy pregnancy and a quick postpartum recovery

That is also what I teach women today, because I want you to feel amazing in your own skin as well no matter what life circumstances you are faced with. 

A HUGE part of living in a body that just feels good physically and emotionally is making sure that you are not carrying around a ton of toxins that are leaving your sluggish, heavy around the middle, and unbalanced.
